Dear 8th Grade parents,
The time has come for the PLAS Science Fair. Your child has received a PLAS Science Fair information packet which entails the guidelines and procedures for the PLAS Science Fair. Your child will be required to compose a research report and project display. All the due dates for each part of the report and project are included in the information I have sent home. Please keep in mind, this is my first science fair, but I will go over the process in class and reminders will be posted on my blog under “Science Fair”.
The Science fair will be February 15. In order for us to get started right away in January, your child needs to have a topic chosen. If at all possible, I need to be notified of the topic before we get out for Christmas Break, otherwise it will need to be chosen by the time we get back in January. Your child’s project will be categorized under one of the following categories:
1. Biological Sciences: Includes Botany, Zoology, Health and Medicine, Microbiology and Protists, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Taxonomy, and Biochemistry.
2. Physical Sciences Includes Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Earth and Space Sciences, Computer Sciences, and Biochemistry.

* Assignments may be turned in early. You should print 2 copies of each assignment. One is for your project and the other is to be turned in for a grade. All assignments must be typed. Handwritten assignments will not be accepted and will result in a grade of zero.
